An attorney in New York expresses her frustration with the controlled court system. This has gone viral on Facebook, good!
I can’t say I was this angry when I left the legal industry, I was more hurt and a little shocked when I realized I’d entered the legal system because I wanted to help create a better world and instead found out the better world I was helping to create was only for a select few. The sickening sight of two attorneys rejoicing over their victory — the removal of an 80 year old woman from the home she’d raised her family in — has never left me. It hit me square in the face, that I was contributing my efforts, and being paid well for it, to hurt others. This is not my idea of a fair and just system of law.
It’s upsetting yet encouraging to see that more people in the system are starting to see the injustices. I wish it didn’t have to take the deaths of children playing with toy guns in the park for us to get here.
The “race war” is manufactured — carefully controlled — and highly effective as long as we continue to fight with each other.
